Steve saw a marsh tit. The sunny weather brought out various butterflies. We saw hibernating peacock butterflies and brimstone butterflies.
The wrens and the bluetits are nesting.

The daffodils are multiplying under the oak tree.

Last month we counted 8 little clumps of bluebells at the entrance. This month we have 12. We keep adding brambles and it is certainly working. We look forward to a lovely display.
We were saddened to have a video recording of a a young lad, probably about 8, jumping up and down on the ammonites we made to give the snakes a warm spot to enjoy the heat. He then proceeded to jump up and down on the corrugated iron which the grass snakes like to hide under. We now have a dead grass snake. It was shocking to see neither of the adults remonstrate with him.
There are still remnants of autumn on the sallow.

It is good to see new growth on the spindle tree as we have had to protect the bark from the Muntjac deer. The blackthorn has begun to flower. Mary is very pleased that all her hard work with the native hedge by the track is paying off.
