We were in need of some blacksmith services for the woodlands so we contacted Tom Boyd in Wymondham. https://www.tomboydblacksmith.co.uk

If you have any need of a fabulous metal work project Tom is your man. We thoroughly recommend him.
An adult ladybird can potentially eat 50 aphids a day and up to 5000 in its lifetime! But that's not all, ladybird larvae eat even more! Up to 100 aphids per day. You need these super predators in your garden. A group of ladybirds is called a loveliness. Last week the woods were teeming with ladybirds and damselflies.
When walking from the Oak tree along the wildflower meadow path we disturbed baby pheasants. There were at least 8 of them.

Last year we had 8 grass snakes in a range of sizes. We saw one very early this year, which later died. We have checked each time we have visited but have had no sightings at all.
We heard a fascinating programme on Radio 4 all about insects. The programme was Rare Earth on Friday 30 May at 12.01 to 12.59. You can find it on BBC Sounds.
There is always something to do, to think about and to learn.
We had a drone flying over last week. Perhaps it belongs to someone who is checking out the site before buying the woodlands.
