The Broads Authority have granted us the right to keep the yurt on site for storage, research and shelter as long as the woodlands is being managed for biodiversity.
We have removed the bed and bedding.

We live in London, so it is a 5 hour return journey for us. The work we need to do cannot be done in a few hours, so reluctantly, we have decided to sell Blackwater Carr. You can find the details on www.forests.co.uk.
We are looking for someone to take over the stewardship of the land and move it on to the next level. When we bought the woodlands from Mark Cocker in 2019 he gave us his list of species and photos over time. We have taken this to the next level by creating a detailed Excel spreadsheet, photos and a website. It will be exciting to see what the new owner will do.
On our visit last week we got ready for winter. We cut the paths back so interested visitors can move around easily. We sowed Yellow Rattle seeds. They need to have a frost before they will germinate. Yellow Rattle is a parasite on grass so this enables more wildflowers to germinate. We also cleaned all the bird boxes and cleared out the old nests and unhatched eggs. We think they were bluetit eggs.
